Arkade Adds Four Western Mumbai Redevelopment Projects
Arkade Developers has expanded its redevelopment pipeline with four projects across key western Mumbai micro-markets.
The projects cover approximately 45,204 sq m across Malad West, Kandivali West, Kandivali East and Borivali West. Together, they are expected to generate approximately 15 lakh sq ft of saleable carpet area and around ₹5,000 crore in projected turnover.
For developers and brokers, the scale of the additions highlights the growing importance of society and cluster redevelopment in Mumbai's residential market.
Established western suburbs have strong end-user demand but limited availability of large vacant land parcels. Redevelopment allows new inventory to enter these markets while simultaneously replacing ageing housing stock.
The opportunity is not simply about adding homes. Larger redevelopment projects can also create improved amenities, parking and infrastructure within established neighbourhoods.
For property professionals, the growing redevelopment pipeline means future supply in western Mumbai will increasingly need to be tracked society by society and micro-market by micro-market.
Key takeaway: Redevelopment is becoming one of the key sources of new residential inventory across Mumbai's mature western suburbs.
